Commissioners proclaim Jan. 15, 2024 MLK Jr. Day

Hays County Commissioners Court adopted a proclamation recognizing Jan. 15, 2024 as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day to commemorate his 96th birthday and the tenth reunion of the Crossroads Memorial in San Marcos. The Dunbar Heritage Association President Alex Banbury invited the public to attend the events occurring from Jan. 13 to 15. at various locations throughout San Marcos.

Property tax statements now available online
Property tax statements now available online

The November Constitutional Amendment election led to changes in property taxes that had delayed tax statements for the year, according to the Hays County Tax Assessor-Collector Jenifer O’Kane. The property tax statements are now available to view online at tax. co.hays.tx.us and will become delinquent on Feb. 1, if not paid.

Randy Rogers raises $150,000 for nonprofit

Texas music mainstays Randy Rogers Band donated back into the community gifting $150,000 to New Braunfels nonprofit organization Connections Individual and Family Services. The organization is dedicated to empowering youth, connecting families, and building futures one youth and one family at a time. While Rogers is known of his musical success, he is also a graduate of Texas State University and owns Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos.
