Dear Readers, I’ve been ruminating on holiday magic lately, seeking solace from personal turmoil as I’m denied time with my boys. Rather than wallow, my self-care strategies have gotten me reminiscing about the cheeky grandeur of the Holiday Sl*t-Tacular show that I produced in 2021.
It’s no secret that children who spend a lot of time outdoors benefit from their exposure to nature in immeasurable ways. These days, with children spending more and more time in front of screens, it’s even more important for them to unplug and play outside.

Eggnog is a rich and delicious beverage that has become synonymous with the most festive time of year. This milk- and egg-based concoction is tasty on its own, or it can be dressed up with other flavors and spiked with a favorite spirit when celebrating the holiday season with other adult partygoers.

BRING ON THE TAMALES!
Holiday shopping and gift-giving can often be challenging, but even more so when shopping for a person living with dementia. Depending on the stage of disease, some well-intentioned gifts may no longer be appropriate or practical for the person.
The leaves are turning in my neighborhood — lots of yellows and reds showing up, and many leaves are falling to the ground. I am reminded that new birds will soon be arriving.
