With Thanksgiving, Black Friday, the Holidays all coming up, will try to keep this short as know you have a lot of things to do. Incidentally, didn’t realize that reason they call the day after Thanksgiving ‘Black Friday’ was with all the shoppers taking advantage of the special sales on that day, many businesses see their profit-loss statement go in the black for the year.
My journey this year for Thanksgiving will find Judy and I at home eating turkey and pie without a gathering of family or friends. The virus is disruptive to our flow of annual events; it has changed the shopping, celebrating, traveling patterns for all of us.
The importance of shopping locally has been emphasized with increasing urgency in recent years. Events like Small Business Saturday and Plaid Friday have brought some muchneeded attention to the importance of shopping local, which is even more crucial now as so many small businesses try to survive the pandemic.
