A new art show titled “Passages: Moving Forward in 2021,” consisting of 51 works of original art by more than two dozen local artists is now on display in the newly remodeled community gallery spaces at the Price Center. The show will hang through mid-January and many of the works are available to purchase.

‘Tis the season for baking cookies, cakes and other treats. However, during the holiday rush, it’s easy to get side-tracked or tired, and perhaps even a little bit overwhelmed by all the things to do in such a short period of time. Holiday baking doesn’t have to add to seasonal stress. With these tips and shortcuts, there will be plenty of sweet treats for the family.

Let us consider bats and sandhill cranes — I have something to say about each of these.

The holiday season is synonymous with many things, including delicious foods. While Thanksgiving turkeys or Christmas geese will be found on many a table this holiday season, baked goods and desserts are what many people look forward to this time of year.

Though Brian QTN makes his home in Eugene, Ore., these days, the long-time Texas folk musician will host a virtual Wordless Solstice event this Sunday to commemorate the passage of what feels to many people like the longest year in history.

The floral world has been turned upside down in 2020 and thankfully not from COVID-19 challenges, but to an idea a long time in coming to fruition. I’ll call it a Heart to Heart Christmas. Indoor decorating for Christmas 2020 has been given a new jolt in plants and that appropriately involves a plant that has long been known as the Heart of Jesus plant.
