Gifts for runner in your life
Gifts for runner in your life

It is getting close to Christmas and I usually write a column for individuals that have a running partner or friend that exchanges gifts. It is still two weeks away and I know some people wait until the time to buy a gift is only two days away. I knew one person that waited until Christmas Eve to buy a gift. The only downside to that is the gift idea you had in mind may be sold out or if you wait until Christmas Eve the store may close early. If the gift needs to be mailed you have five days to buy the gift, wrap the gift, wrap the gift for mailing, and to stand in line with all the other people that waited to mail the gift.

Bailiff continues to leave long-lasting legacy, stretching over 46 years

It was hard not to feel emotional for David Baillif, Special Assistant to Head Coach G.J. Kinne, as the Bobcats defeated Georgia Southern to earn their sixth win of the season to become bowl eligible nearly 18 years after Bailiff, then head coach, led Texas State to their first ever FCS playoff win over the Eagles in 2005.

‘Carey’-ing on with teas and traditions this holiday season
‘Carey’-ing on with teas and traditions this holiday season

Dear Readers, Do you ever find yourself in a bipolar- like funk around the holidays, or is it just me? It’s a mix of childlike glee marveling at Christmas lights and enjoying carols, yet I also feel a bit like the Grinch. I mean, how many times can we listen to Mariah Carey in a single month? And this comes from a gal who flew to Oakland, Ca., just to see Lionel Richie perform with special guest Mariah Carey. She’s certainly impressive, but it’s a lot. Still, let’s give her credit — creating a Christmas album was a brilliant move for her bank account, so I certainly don’t fault her. However, I think we all know there are plenty of other Christmas albums that could be included in the store playlists.
