One bird that shows up frequently on holiday menus is the turkey. It is popular at both Thanksgiving and Christmas. Until recently, I was still eating leftover turkey – delicious.

The Texas Historical Commission (THC) has recognized the Martindale School and Gymnasium as a significant part of Texas history by awarding it an Official Texas Historical Marker. The designation honors the Martindale School and Gymnasium as an important and educational part of local history.

The San Marcos Mermaid Society presents an eclectic holiday shopping experience this weekend from 5 to 7 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
