It was a simple choice for senior third baseman Sara Vanderford about coming back for one more year to play for the Bobcats, due to being granted an extra year of eligibility as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A six-run fifth inning for Louisiana was too much to overcome for Texas State in an 8-3 loss Sunday afternoon from Russo Park. Despite the loss, the Bobcats did clinch a spot in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament following South Alabama’s defeat to Coastal Carolina earlier in the day.
San Marcos saw their season come to an end last Saturday as the Rattlers fell to Lake Travis in three games, losing to Cavaliers in Game 3 7-0.
Texas State discovered their fate on Sunday following the completion of the Sun Belt Tournament as the Bobcats were selected to participate in the NCAA Softball Tournament.

I have been part of fitness, running and exercise as long as I can remember. At a younger age it was called “playing,” even when it meant running or riding a bike in a race around the block. Games were almost always associated with running or throwing or climbing something. There were not many of the group that were considered overweight. We were always moving to burn off extra calories.
