Such efforts run counter to my boyhood notions of Texas as an open and welcoming place. Irrespective of any purported rationale behind these efforts, they put the state on a slippery economic slope with potentially substantial adverse consequences.

On Friday, Feb. 24, 2023, the Vagina Monologues – SMTX hosted an evening of empowering performances to a soldout crowd at the Wildflower Country Inn & Event Center. The annual event raised over $7,457 to benefit the Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center.
