Just as the San Marcos Police Officers Association prepared to meet with the city to negotiate a new agreement last week, local activists were ready to make their presence known by outlining their own set of reforms.
Speakers from several prominent local activist groups met in San Marcos to discuss the implications of mass incarceration in the United States over the last 50 years.

The window to submit a historical marker application to the Texas Historical Commission is currently open. Between now and May 15, local individuals or groups can apply. Each year, the Hays County Historical Commission works with those wishing to apply for a historical marker from the THC.
