Job Fair makes face to face application process a reality

Several SMCISD student athletes and those involved in other extracurricular activities received recognition by the Board of Trustees at its regular meeting in late May.

The Hays County Commissioners Court is set to discuss employee payroll disbursements, price increases for outsourcing of jail inmates, remaining American Rescue Plan Act funding and looking to possibly pursue membership in the Texas Housing Foundation at the regularly scheduled meeting at 9 a.m. today.

Texas lawmakers passed more than 1,300 bills before the end of this year’s contentious legislative session, quickly sending them to the governor for consideration.

The First Tuesday SMTX Film Series is screening “No, No, A Dockumentary,” at 7 p.m. today.

Money and how to spend it and the authorization of a voting agreement with Hays County will be features of the upcoming San Marcos City Council meeting.

DEAR ABBY: My adult daughter is single and lives alone. She lives five hours away but manages to visit every two months or so. The problem is, when she comes home, we hardly ever see her. She’s mostly at her cousin’s house. During her most recent visit, we saw her a total of one hour a day the five days she was here – just enough time for her to come over, change clothes and leave again. She even sleeps there most nights.

The San Marcos Public Library lawn was buzzing with all the excitement local children could bring Friday. Generating the enthusiasm was the Summer Kick-Off party hosted by the library. This was an opportunity to celebrate both the beginning of summer and to let loose after the conclusion of the school year. Children found a bounty of activities to get them motivated to spend time at the library this summer, enjoying this year’s theme, “Up, Up and Away.”
