Forensic Anthropology Research Farm continues to provide necessary knowledge to wide group of organizations

Beginning on Sunday, Sept. 17 at 9 p.m., southbound I-35 at SH 123 alternating lanes will be closed as traffic shifts east to the northbound side as crews prepare to demolish and reconstruct the southbound I-35 bridge. The new traffic configuration will be in place by Monday, Sept. 18 at 5 a.m.

DEAR ABBY: I’ve been married for 34 years. During most of them, I was unfaithful. I never felt like I was truly married because my husband never gave me the time of day, but I liked my marital status because, I guess, we were companions. San Marcos Police Department officials are praising the teamwork among members of its own officers and staff and those of neighboring law enforcement agencies, following the official announcement of an investigation that resulted in the arrests of three people now charged in connection to charges of kidnapping and the smuggling of undocumented immigrants, as previously reported in the San Marcos Daily Record.

In a surprise turn of events Wednesday, it was announced that Hays County District Clerk Avrey J. Anderson has filed a petition calling for the removal from office of Hays County District Attorney Kelly Higgins.

The United States now exports more liquefied natural gas (LNG) than any other country. It’s a relatively new development, with Australia and Qatar usually topping the rankings in the past. The volume of US exports has surged over the past few years, with major new facilities coming online and strong global demand. While Australia and Qatar volumes have been fairly stable since 2018, US exports have basically quadrupled.

A Ken Paxton whistleblower testified Tuesday that the attorney general took an unusually intense interest in a charity’s lawsuit against Nate Paul in 2020, leading to the belief that Paxton had “turned over” his office to Paul.

Charlie Robison who made a career in country music and who once called San Marcos home during his time as a student athlete at then Southwest Texas State University, now Texas State University, has died. He was 59.

Hays County Commissioners Court held one of its shorter regularly scheduled meetings Tuesday, adjourning for executive session after only an hour and a half. It was still long enough, though, for commissioners to look at current statistics for the Hays County Jail and to extensively consider what to do about a unique employee benefit concern.
