Lions serve Cottage Kitchen lunch

Lions serve Cottage Kitchen lunch

The San Marcos Lions Club will host lunch at the Charles S. Cock House Museum, located at 400 E. Hopkins Street, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25.

The lunch will feature burgers with all of the fixings, potato salad, beans, an array of homemade desserts and a beverage, all for $8 (cash and checks accepted only). To go plates are also available for pick up.

The lions invite everyone to join them for lunch and fellowship and a chance to win a summer of free tubing at the Lions Club Tube rental. Bring canned food to be donated to the Hays County Food Bank for a chance to be entered into a drawing to win 10 free tubing passes redeemable during the 2019 Summer Season.

All proceeds benefit the Heritage Association of San Marcos, an organization that supports the preservation of historic buildings and celebrates the culture and traditions that beautify and enrich the San Marcos community.

Cottage Kitchen began more than 40 years ago inside the Charles S. Cock home, a historic stone house that is now listed in the National Register. Charles S. Cock was a pioneer and a former mayor of San Marcos.

Since 1941, the San Marcos Lions club has been dedicated to serving the community. Where there’s a need, there’s a Lion. Visit the Lion's Facebook for more info about lunch and the work being done by the club.
