‘Shucked’ on sale Friday; Corny hit comes to Austin Nov. 12-17

What do you get when you pair a semi-neurotic, New York comedy writer with two music superstars from Nashville? A hilarious and audacious farm-to-fable musical about the one thing Americans everywhere can’t get enough of: Corn.

“Shucked” is the new musical comedy that proves sometimes tearing down a few walls, rather than growing them, is the only way to preserve our way of life.

Tickets are on sale now for the Broadway in Austin production of “Shucked,” the comedy that is turning musical comedy on its ear and is offering a kernel of hope for our divided nation.

“Shucked” features what the New York Post calls a “superb book” by Tony Award-winner Robert Horn and a score filled with catchy songs by Tony Award-nominees and Nashville music superstars Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally.

Tickets start at $30 and are available at texasperformingarts. org and BroadwayinAustin. com, by phone at (512) 477-1444, or from the Texas Performing Arts ticket office at Bass Concert Hall. “Shucked” will run Nov. 12 - 17, Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m.; Friday at 8 p.m.; Saturday at 2 and 8 p.m.; and Sunday at 1 and 6:30 p.m. at Bass Concert Hall in Austin.
