CONSTABLE KIDS

HAYS COUNTY PRECINCT 1

The Hays County Constable Pct. 1 Office hosts an annual event in which they offer parents the opportunity to log their children’s identifying information in case of emergencies. This year, the event occurred at the H-E-B located at 641 E Hopkins Street in San Marcos. According to an informational packet dispensed at the event, thousands of children are reported missing or treated for injuries each year. The first two hours are incredibly crucial during an emergency, but vital information is rarely available to assist emergency workers. The child identification kit collects DNA through hair and a mouth swab as well as fingerprints, and parents fill out information about blood type, date of birth, conditions or allergies, hair color, eye color, sex and race.
