UFCU Stadium set to receive new turf

TXST FOOTBALL

UFCU Stadium, formally known as Bobcat Stadium, is set to have a face lift as the stadium will have it’s artificial turf replaced.

With the last turf renovation happening in 2016, the replacement turf is expected to be ready by the start of the 2024 season.

“We are excited about adding this element to UFCU Stadium,” Director of Athletics Don Coryell said. “Between the new naming partnership with UFCU, renovation of the Weisman Football Performance Center, and new Jim Wacker Field turf we have made significant investment in our football program and game day experience. We will be ready for another historic season in the national spotlight.”

One of the changes with the turf replacement will be the north end zone featuring “Bobcats” while the south end zone will feature “Texas State”.

The UFCU logo will also appear on the field along with the Sun Belt Conference Logo on both sides of the 25-yard line.

The Jim Wacker Field logo will be moved on the sidelines between the 20yard line and the goal line and will be in white lettering.

Texas State will kickoff the 2024 at home against the Lamar Cardinals.

Kickoff time is set for Saturday Aug. 31 at 7 p.m.
