Mullins earns All-American Honors, signs with Smoke

TXST SOFTBALL

Starting pitcher Jessica Mullins earned All-American honors from both Softball America and D1Softball.

The senior pitcher won 31 games during the season with an ERA of 1.45 and striking out 222 batters. Mullins also threw the first seven-inning perfect game since Katie Garnett in 2008.

Mullins was named Sun Belt Pitcher of the Year during the season for the second time in her career and also named Pre-Season Pitcher of the Year.

Mullins earned First Team All-Region honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association along with third baseman Sara Vanderford. Shortstop Hannah Earls earned Second Team All-Region honors.

Mullins will continue her softball career professionally after signing with the Texas Smoke of the National Women’s Fastpitch league. Mullins is just the fifth player in the program to play pro, joining Randi Rupp, Alex Newton, Nicole Neuerberg and Kristen Zaleski.
