Celebrating National Volunteer Month and Earth Day, Gary Job Corps Corrections Cadets assisted with the “Keep Martindale Beautiful” Cleanup. Pictured left are Martindale Mayor Katherine Glaze, City Councilman Matthew McGovern, Dorothy McGovern, Police Chief Tommy Ward and City Utility Clerk Diana Guevara Garza. Gary Job Corps Cadets are Fatima Moreno, Daniel Moreno, Zasmine Walker, Jesse Rubens, Juan Torres and Jamar Dixon, under the instruction of Captain Weaver. The staff and students from the Gary Job Corps have partnered with the City of Martindale in many projects from the cleanups of numerous flooding events through the construction of the ADA ramp at City Hall and railing. Corrections and Security Cadets helped with the crowd and traffic control for the 4th of July Parade and worked the Jamaica at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
