ARTS & CULTURE

Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos hosted a Cinco de Mayo luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday at Cuauhtemoc Hall. The building was filled with locals looking to celebrate the holiday. According to the event page on the visit San Marcos website, Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Tejanos’ contributions to the victory of the Battle of Puebla, Mexico in the fight between Mexico and France. The event had food and a silent auction to support local heritage initiatives.
