Ann Simons, age 76, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019, after a long battle with leukemia. She was born to Ed and Ella Mae Koehne and grew up with her twin brother Allan and younger brother Jerry in the Houston area. She graduated from Pasadena High School. She attended business school in Houston and worked for Bank of Texas. Ann married Don Simons 54 years ago. They had one son, Mark, and a beloved grandson, Austin. Ann and Don lived in various cities, settling in San Marcos, TX twenty years ago. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, including working in their Clothing Closet.
Ann is survived by husband, Don Simons, grandson Austin Simons, Austin’s mother Brooklyn, brother Jerry (Jerrilyn) Koehne, sister-in-law Martha Shockey, sister-in-law Lou (Roger) Groff, numerous cousins, and innumerable friends.
Ann loved people and that love was shared by those in her various circle of friends in the organizations to which she belonged. Will Rogers is quoted as saying he never met a man he did not like. Ann Simons never met a person she did not like.
Services will be Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 1906 North, IH 35, San Marcos TX.
