First Tuesday SMTX to present ‘Dance Hall Days’ Feb. 6

The First Tuesday SMTX Film Series will screen “Dance Hall Days” about the history of Texas dance halls on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at The Price Center. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Complimentary pizza and drinks will be served starting at 6:30 p.m. with the film beginning at 7 p.m.

The First Tuesday SMTX Film Series will screen “Dance Hall Days” about the history of Texas dance halls on Tuesday, Feb. 6 at The Price Center. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Complimentary pizza and drinks will be served starting at 6:30 p.m. with the film beginning at 7 p.m.

After the film, director Erik McCown and Dr. Jason Mellard from the Center for Texas Music History at Texas State University will host a Q&A session about the film, which won Best Texas Documentary at the Hill Country Film Festival.

“Dance Hall Days” showcases a cast of Texas characters hard at work at keeping the iconic venues alive in light of an uncertain future. Run time is 72 minutes.
