Texas State delivered one of their biggest wins of the season as the Bobcats knocked off the previously undefeated Houston Cougars, 1-0.

Texas State delivered one of their biggest wins of the season as the Bobcats knocked off the previously undefeated Houston Cougars, 1-0.

The win was the program’s second-ever victory over a Power 5 program, with the last coming in 2002 against Texas Tech.

“This was a really big win for us. Houston is a very talented team who’s been scoring a lot of goals, so keeping a clean sheet was a big challenge,” head coach Steve Holeman said. “The team showed tremendous effort today and this was a great way to finish up our non-conference.”

Victoria Meza scored the lone goal for the Bobcats in the 75th minute.

Texas State starts conference play this Sunday against Louisiana.
