After a two-year hiatus, Dirt Dauber Festival will return to Eye of the Dog Art Center (EOTDAC) in San Marcos on May 14 and 15. More than 40 area clay artists, live music, a variety of demonstrations, clay contests and light refreshments are among the highlights of the free two-day celebration.

Dirt Dauber offers a free, family-friendly way to enjoy and learn more about clay arts on the unique, 12-acre campus of EOTDAC. The site features a visual treat of art installations and unique buildings — including a large open studio, a gallery, private studios and a wooded courtyard that serves as home to an outdoor kitchen, stage, and most of the clay artists’ booths for the two-day event.

Local live music is always an important part of the festival, and this year is no different. Here’s the lineup of musical artists scheduled to appear:

Saturday, May 14

11 a.m. – Marshal Anderson

12 p.m. – Elijah Stone

1 p.m. – Knotty Audio

2 p.m. – George Ensle

3 p.m. – Ditch Crickets

4 p.m. – Lonesome Heroes

5 p.m. – Ace Pepper

Sunday, May 15

12 p.m. – Omid/Billy Ray Mangham

1 p.m. – Tracy Weinberg

2 p.m. – Dave’s Sims and the Hot Pipes

3 p.m. – Candler’s Wilkinson’s quartet

4 p.m. – Chansons et Soulardslive

In addition, several clay-related contests are held featuring much-coveted trophies created each year by Eye co-founder, Billy Ray Mangham.

As always, the festival is free to enter and park, and will feature refreshments and an extremely laid-back vibe. Parking is limited and carpooling is recommended.

EOTDAC is located at 405 Valley View West Road in San Marcos.
