Texas State University’s Division of Dance presents STREAM in Motion 7.0 in the Harrison Performing Arts Center on Feb. 28 and March 1 at 9 a.m.

The Division of Dance presents the annual concert by the Texas State dance company Creation in Motion Touring Ensemble for Young Audiences or CIM TEYA (pronounced "SIM-TAY-YUH”), a performance ensemble made up of Texas State dance majors and directed by Associate Professor Kaysie Seitz Brown. CIM TEYA’s mission is to instill an appreciation and excitement for the art of dance in young viewers, while also exposing them to important academic and social ans emotional concepts. CIM TEYA is committed to creating engaging, rigorously crafted dance works to create an interactive performance.

This year’s concert, titled STREAM in Motion 7.0, showcases repertoire inspired by science and nature, engineering, math, and ways to process bullying while also finding unique ways to utilize technology, including the new work about social justice by guest choreographer, Torens Johnson titled Past, Present, Future. Four elementary schools from San Marcos CISD will be attending totaling approximately 400 young viewers.

STREAM in Motion 7.0 in the Harrison Performing Arts Center will be presented on Feb. 28 and March 1 at 9 am. Tickets are free but space is limited. Reservations can be emailed to [email protected].
