Amplify Hays County, a 24-hour giving event that brings nonprofits and donors together, starts Friday at 6 p.m.
It’s part of the larger Amplify Austin initiative.
Among the nonprofits hoping to benefit is the Hays County Food Bank, which is participating this year for the fourth time. The organization can fund one nutrition class like the Kid’s Cooking Club for a $10 donation; for $20, it can provide up to 80 meals. A donation of $30 can provide students with healthy snacks through the Backpack Program and $40 will fuel the food transportation van for one week.
While giving can take place at anytime, donations given between Feb 28 at 6 p.m. and March 1 at 6 p.m. qualify for matching funds and possible additional prizes. Every organization receives matching dollars (on a pro-rata basis) provided by I Live Here I Give Here’s sponsors.
